Indians | Rajai Davis, Juan Uribe sitting

Mon, 23 May 2016 11:06:45 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis and 3B Juan Uribe are not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox Monday, May 23. OFs Michael Martinez and Marlon Byrd are starting and hitting ninth and eighth, respectively. 3B/OF Jose Ramirez is starting at third base and batting fifth against White Sox SP Mat Latos.

Fantasy Tip: Byrd and Martinez have low ceiling for fantasy gamers for Game 1. Ramirez has only one home run but is hittinng .296 (34-for-115) in a utility role for the Tribe and is a cheap value pick against Latos.

Indians | Rajai Davis wraps up big series

Thu, 19 May 2016 19:38:59 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, a run scored, a steal and a walk in a 7-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds Thursday, May 19, and he finished the four-game series 9-for-16 with three doubles, two home runs, nine RBI and 10 runs scored.

Fantasy Tip: Don't expect Davis to maintain these power numbers, but as long as he is leading off for Cleveland, he is worth a look if you need a boost in runs and stolen bases.

Indians | Rajai Davis homers twice

Wed, 18 May 2016 20:54:15 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI against the Cincinnati Reds Wednesday, May 18.

Fantasy Tip: Davis has received regular playing time over the last few weeks and has recorded seven hits, nine runs scored and seven RBI over his last three games. Davis should have some short-term value in deeper mixed leagues and is a solid starting option in daily fantasy leagues.

Indians | Rajai Davis stuffs boxscore Tuesday

Tue, 17 May 2016 19:46:57 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis enjoyed his best game of the 2016 season Tuesday, May 17, against the Cincinnati Reds. He finished the night 3-for-3 with four runs scored, three RBI, a double and two walks.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the standout performance, owners shouldn't overreact here, as Davis is still just hitting .243 on the year, and he regularly bats low in the order. He's really only someone to consider for owners in deep leagues or for those who are desperate for speed on the basepaths in mixed formats.

Indians | Juan Uribe back in lineup Sunday

Sun, 15 May 2016 08:14:56 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is back in the starting lineup against Minnesota Twins SP Tyler Duffey Sunday, May 15, batting sixth. INF/OF Jose Ramirez, who played the hot corner Saturday, May 14, will bat fifth and play left field Sunday. In addition, C Chris Gimenez will bat eighth and start behind the plate, while OF Michael Martinez will play right field and bat ninth. OFs Marlon Byrd and Rajai Davis and C Yan Gomes are not in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Although Uribe is just batting .224 in 76 at-bats this season, it's worth nothing that he is hitting .324 with two doubles and three RBI in 37 at-bats at home. Gimenez is worth considering as a value play in DFS, while Martinez is nothing more than a desperation source of salary cap relief.

Indians | Tyler Naquin starting in center field

Sat, 14 May 2016 10:38:56 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Tyler Naquin will bat eighth and start in center field against Minnesota Twins SP Ervin Santana Saturday, May 14. OF Rajai Davis will bat ninth and slide over to left field, while INF/OF Jose Ramirez bats fifth and starts at the hot corner. 3B Juan Uribe is receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Naquin hit .315 during his first stint with the parent club this season and is back on the 25-man roster because OF Lonnie Chisenhall is on the bereavement list. He's worthy of consideration as an inexpensive flier in daily fantasy leagues Saturday.

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley is out of the lineup Wednesday, May 11, with OF Rajai Davis leading off.

Indians | Michael Brantley returns to lineup Sunday

Sun, 08 May 2016 07:09:16 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley is back in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez Sunday, May 8, batting cleanup and playing left field. OF Lonnie Chisenhall is batting seventh and playing center field, with OF Rajai Davis receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley is batting .258 with six RBI in nine games since coming off the disabled list and is hitting .429 at home this season. Chisenhall is making his first career MLB appearance in center field but gained experience playing the position during a rehab assignment earlier this year. He is batting .316 over the past two weeks and is worth considering as an inexpensive flier in daily fantasy games this afternoon.

Indians | Michael Brantley likely to be backup CF

Sat, 07 May 2016 10:10:16 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley, who serves as the team's everyday left fielder, is expected to serve as the backup in center field to OF Rajai Davis, as a result of OF Tyler Naquin being demoted to Class AAA Columbus. OF Lonnie Chisenhall and INF/OF Jose Ramirez have also seen reps at the position, with Chisenhall gaining experience there during his recent rehab assignment and Ramirez playing center field in spring training.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley has played 356 career games in center field, while Chisenhall and Ramirez have yet to play the position during an MLB regular-season game, so it's unlikely that the latter two players will see time there except in an emergency. Marlon Byrd has played 849 career games in center but is being used strictly as a corner outfielder and designated hitter by Cleveland.

Indians | Juan Uribe, Tyler Naquin sitting

Fri, 06 May 2016 13:13:04 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe and OF Tyler Naquin are not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura Friday, May 6. OF Rajai Davis will start in center field and is batting eighth, while SS Jose Ramirez will start at third base and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Davis has played well over his last few games with at least one hit in six of his last 10 games and eight RBI during that span. He could be a sleeper option for owners in daily fantasy leagues. Ramirez has at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games and could also be used in daily leagues.
