Fantasy Tip: Martinez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup for the next game. Davis ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is hitting only .157 this month and is not the best option for owners on FantasyScore.

Tigers | Rajai Davis setting the table vs. Angels

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 13:24:39 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Rajai Davis is leading off against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Hector Santiago Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) typically leads off against southpaws, and hitting atop of a potent lineup is a significant value boost for him. He is worth a look as a value play at FantasyScore Wednesday. Anthony Gose ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) shifts down to the nine-hole and his upside takes a hit.

Tigers | Anthony Gose leading off vs. Reds

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 12:10:15 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Anthony Gose is leading off against Cincinnati Reds SP Keyvius Sampson Monday, Aug. 24. OF Rajai Davis is not in the starting lineup Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Gose ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) receives a nice fantasy boost hitting atop the Detroit lineup, but he has been struggling of late. It has been five games since he batted first, and Gose has a disappointing .190/.264/.304 slash line over his past 23 games. He should be viewed as a high-risk option at FantasyScore Monday.

Detroit Tigers OF Anthony Gose is not in the starting lineup against Texas Rangers SP Cole Hamels Sunday, Aug. 23. OF Rajai Davis will start in center field and is batting first in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Gose ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) likely is sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Davis ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is hitting only .189 this month and does not appear to be the best option for owners on FantasyScore.

Tigers | Tyler Collins draws into the lineup

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 13:24:18 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Tyler Collins is starting in left field and batting second against Kansas City Royals SP Johnny Cueto Monday, Aug. 10. OF Rajai Davis is not in the starting lineup Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Collins ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has handled the bat nicely over his 66 plate appearances with a .270 batting average and would typically stand as an excellent FantasyScore option. Facing Cueto ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) is far from ideal, though, so Collins checks out as an extremely risky daily play. Davis ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) could see his role revert back to only facing left-handed pitchers, if Collins continues to hit well.

Sun, 09 Aug 2015 07:07:28 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Rajai Davis is leading off against Boston Red Sox SP Henry Owens Sunday, Aug. 9.

Fantasy Tip: While Davis ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is currently riding an uninspiring 8-for-49 stretch, he owns a .300/.354/.446 career slash line against lefties. He presents nice value at FantasyScore Sunday, especially because of his speed/

Tigers | Three OFs sharing time at two positions

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 18:04:01 -0700

Detroit Tigers OFs Tyler Collins, Rajai Davis and Anthony Gose are expected to share time in left field and center field for the remainder of the season, with OF J.D. Martinez serving as the full-time right fielder.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has played all three outfield positions in 2015, while Gose ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has exclusively played center field and Collins has manned the two corner outfield positions. Expect to see Gose and Collins in the lineup versus righties, with Davis getting playing time against lefties.

Tigers | Anthony Gose taking day off

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 13:11:02 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Anthony Gose is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 30. OF Rajai Davis is starting in center field and hitting ninth against Baltimore Orioles SP Miguel Gonzalez.

Fantasy Tip: Both Gose and Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) have fizzled out at the plate lately, and Davis has only six hits in 43 at-bats (.140) in July with no homers or RBI. He typically is only attractive to daily gamers when he's facing left-handers, too, so he should be considered a weak option on FantasyScore tonight, especially while hitting ninth.

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 13:25:41 -0700

Detroit Tigers C Alex Avila, SP Alfredo Simon and OF Rajai Davis could be moved before the trade deadline since they will become free agents after the season.

Fantasy Tip: Avila ($3,300, 6.6% of cap), Simon ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) and Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has been regulars for the Tigers this season but could be moved for the right offer. Their fantasy value will be determined by which team they play for and the role on the team.
