He'll make $250,000 for 95 days on the roster and $250,000 for every 15 days up to 165. His 2013 option has been reduced from $9 million to $6 million. The team is trying their best to expedite his return to the U.S. "It doesn't matter that he was a little inconsistent last year," manager Manny Acta said. "Fausto is an important part of our rotation." Carmona will not be paid while on the restricted list, and Cleveland would only have to pay a prorated portion of his 2012 salary if he returns at some point during the regular season.
