Bill Williamson reports for the Pioneer Press the Minnesota Vikings plan to put OL David Dixon and Corbin Lacina back in the starting lineup this week. Dixon was benched in favor of Everett Lindsay, and Calvin Collins played in front of Lacina against the Packers last week. Lindsay is expected to be the backup at every position this week, and Collins likely will spell Lacina. FS Orlando Thomas and RCB Robert Tate are scheduled to start again. Thomas (death in family) missed practice today, but he should be back tomorrow. Eric Kelly could see a lot of action at left corner if Dale Carter (hamstring) can't play. Jim Nelson is expected to start at weakside linebacker and Andre O'Neal is set to start at strongside linebacker. QB Spergon Wynn is also slated to start.

Bill Williamson reports for the Pioneer Press it appears the Minnesota Vikings are benching starting RG David Dixon. Everett Lindsay is expected to start in his place. Sources said coach Dennis Green made the decision. Dixon has been a starter for the past three seasons. It also appears Calvin Collins will start at left guard in place of Corbin Lacina. LB Jim Nelson likely will start at weak-side linebacker in place of LB Ed McDaniel (shoulder). If LB Lemanski Hall (shoulder) can't play, Andre O'Neal probably will take his place at strong-side linebacker.

The Pioneer Press reports Minnesota Vikings DT Chris Hovan (ankle) was able to practice yesterday. LB Ed McDaniel (ankle) also practiced, but he was a little limited. MLB Kailee Wong (knee) practiced and he should be good to go Sunday. WR/return specialist Nate Jacquet (quad) was able to practice yesterday and should be able to play Sunday. OL Calvin Collins (calf) took a limited number of reps in yesterday's practice.

The Pioneer Press reports, as an update to yesterday's stories, that Minnesota Vikings LB Ed McDaniel (ankle sprain) did practice Wednesday but was limited in some capacities. OL Calvin Collins (calf strain) was also back at practice but was limited. DL Willie Howard had swelling in his left knee but was able to make it through practice.

The Pioneer Press reports Minnesota Vikings LT Brad Badger left yesterday's game with a turf toe injury in the first quarter. Badger will be reevaluated today, but he could miss some time. Everett Lindsay moved from left guard to left tackle to play for Badger. Calvin Collins took his place at left guard. DT Winfield Garnett (right foot injury) and DT Chris Hovan (hyperextended knee) were also injured. WR Randy Moss also felt soreness on his right ankle, but he is expected to be fine.

Mike Wells reports for the Pioneer Press Minnesota Vikings OL Calvin Collins has played sooner than expected for the team due to injuries along the offensive line. Collins saw spot duty Oct. 21 against the Packers and last week against the Buccaneers with left guard Corbin Lacina was injured. Collins' role may increase even more now that Lacina and RG David Dixon are injured with calf strains. Lacina could be out two to four weeks, and Dixon is listed as day to day.

The Star-Tribune reports Minnesota Vikings starting G Corbin Lacina (calf injury) may not be ready to play again until after the team's game at Philadelphia in two weeks. There is a good chance Calvin Collins would have the chance to start at left guard if Lacina cannot play. According to test results, LB Fearon Wright suffered damage to the nerve in his right shoulder. It is similar to the injury suffered by CB Robert Tate earier this season.

The Star Tribune reports the Minnesota Vikings signed free agent OL Calvin Collins (Atlanta) to serve as a backup at all positions. Collins started at center, left guard and right guard in his time in Atlanta from 1997-2000. "He's a big, powerful guy," assisistant head coach/offensive line Mike Tice said. "And he moves pretty well." The Vikings cut DB Keith Thibodeaux to make room on the roster for Collins.

Coach Marty Schottenheimer said he told Vanover he had no need for a returner because he is happy with Michael Bates and did not sign Collins or Williams.

Charles Odum, of the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, reports for the Sporting News that with the exception of left tackle, which will be played by Bob Whitfield, every starting job on the Atlanta Falcons offensive line is open. RT Ephraim Salaam, RG Travis Claridge, C Todd McClure and LG Calvin Collins were also part of the first-team offensive line in the recent minicamp. Michael Thompson could push Salaam at right tackle.
