The Star Tribune reports Minnesota Vikings OLB Lemanski Hall (flu) suffered from abdominal pain Wednesday and he was taken to the hospital to see if he had apendicitis. Test done showed he had the flu. He is listed as probable for Sunday's game.

According to Sean Jensen of the Pioneer Press, Minnesota Vikings rookie LB Nick Rogers will get a chance to compete for the starting strong-side linebacker spot, according to coach Mike Tice. He and LB Patrick Chukwurah will compete in practice for the job. The team needs someone to step up to take over for injured LB Lemanski Hall.

Bill Williamson reports for the Pioneer Press the MRI on Minnesota Vikings LB Lemanski Hall (ankle) showed the injury was not as serious as first thought. He is doubtful for the October 13 game against the Lions, but he may be able to return for the Jets game October 20.

In an update to Wednesday's story, the Pioneer Press reports newly re-signed LB Lemanski Hall is expected to be the starter at strong-side linebacker Sunday for the Minnesota Vikings. He'll move ahead of Patrick Chukwurah at that spot.
