The Associated Press reports Philadelphia Phillies SP Randy Wolf won his career-best ninth straight decision on Sept. 17, the first time a Phillies starter has done that since Steve Carlton in 1980-81.

Dodgers | Maddux records 329th victory

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Greg Maddux notched his 329th career victory, Saturday, Aug. 19, against the San Francisco Giants, according to the Associated Press. He moved into a tie with Steve Carlton for 10th place on the all-time wins list.

Cardinals | McGwire to Help Close Busch

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Rick Hummel reports former St. Louis Cardinals 1B Mark McGwire will be one of around 100 former Cardinals in attendance to help close Busch Stadium Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Others expected include SP Steve Carlton, CL Lee Smith, 1B Keith Hernandez, SP Bob Tewksbury and SP John Tudor.

White Sox | Fast Fact: Six Easy For Buehrle

According to The Chicago Tribune's Mark Gonzales, Chicago White Sox SP Mark Buehrle pitched at least six innings for his 48th consecutive start, tying SP Jack McDowell's club mark set in 1992-93. Hall of Fame left-hander Steve Carlton owns the next longest mark with 69 from 1979 to 1982 for Philadelphia.

The Houston Chronicle's Jose De Jesus Ortiz reports Houston Astros SP Roger Clemens recorded his 329th career win Friday, April 8, a 3-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds that tied Clemens with former Philadelphia Phillies SP Steve Carlton for ninth in wins all-time. "Here we are again talking about things I didn't think we'd be talking about," Clemens said. "To tie Steve Carlton, he's one of the best ever, and to have my name alongside of him is a tremendous honor."

Diamondbacks | Unit Moves to No. 3 on K List

The Associated Press reports Arizona Diamondbacks SP Randy Johnson passed former MLB SP Steve Carlton for third on the all-time strikeout list with his 4,137th strikeout Wednesday, Sept. 16. Johnson fanned 11 Rockies to finish with 4,139 to trail SPs Nolan Ryan (5,714) and Roger Clemens (4,287). Johnson is now the all-time strikeout king for lefties.
