NFL.com reports the Minnesota Vikings have released LB Rahim Abdullah, TE Matt Cercone, WR Kenny Clark, LB Mike Crawford, DT Tim Engelhardt, OT Jay Humphrey, G Mike Malano, FB DeWayne Miles, QB Romaro Miller, FB Shaun Paga, S Brian Russell, LB Craig Sauer, DT Fernando Smith, RB Moe Williams, LB Antonio Wilson and RB James Wofford. They also placed rookie CB Carey Scott on IR.

The Pioneer Press reports the Minnesota Vikings escaped Friday's pre-season game with no major injuries. The most serious injury was suffered by backup MLB Mike Crawford, who sprained his right ankle. Also, backup TE Shonn Bell suffered a right shoulder stinger. Rookie DT Shawn Worthen watched the game in street clothes because of a toe injury. Starting CB Robert Tate (shoulder) and rookie CB Carey Scott (stomach) didn't make the trip. There is a possibility Scott has an appendicitis.

According to the team's official site, the Minnesota Vikings have signed TE Shonn Bell, LB Mike Crawford and DE Lamanzer Williams. Bell was just released by the 49ers.
