The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Atlanta Braves called up OF Carlos Guzman (elbow) from Class A Rome Wednesday, Sept. 1 and then placed him on the disabled list due to a torn elbow ligament. The move is strictly procedural; promoting Guzman and then disabling him allows the Braves to add a player to their roster who can be replaced due to injury when playoff rosters need to be set.
