The Texas Rangers will have SS Jurickson Profar begin the season at Triple-A Round Rock, with INF Leury Garcia serving as the utility infielder. OF Jim Adduci, C Eli Whiteside and SP Nate Robertson are also heading to Round Rock. P Coty Woods has cleared waivers, and the Rangers are trying to work out a trade with the Colorado Rockies.

Fantasy Tip: Profar will be up eventually this year and is still worth grabbing in the late rounds in mixed formats if you can stash him. He should be owned in every AL-only and keeper league.

Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez (arm) isn't expected to resume his throwing program for another two to three weeks. C Eli Whiteside (calf) will catch SP Derek Holland in a minor league game Tuesday, March 19.

Fantasy Tip: Perez has a long road back in order to be considered for a rotation spot. By the time he is ready to return, Colby Lewis (elbow) will be back, too, further clouding his role this season. It's possible that Perez will make some starts down the road, but he might be mainly used as a long reliever or spend most of his time in the minors this season.

New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said the team may go with in-house options at catcher to replace Pittsburgh Pirates C Russell Martin. Cs Francisco Cervelli, Austin Romine, Chris Stewart and Eli Whiteside are the options. Cashman said a replacement in right field for OF Nick Swisher is more important than a catcher at this time.
