The New York Yankees have signed free-agent RP Jason Bulger (Twins) to a minor league contract. He will report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Monday, April 2.

The Minnesota Twins optioned IF Tsuyoshi Nishioka, OF Rene Tosoni and SP Carlos Gutierrez to Triple-A Rochester. They also reassigned RP Jason Bulger, RP Luis Perdomo, SP Daryl Thompson, RP Esmerling Vasquez, SP P.J. Walters, C Chris Herrmann, C Daniel Rohlfing, 1B Aaron Bates and OF Wilkin Ramirez to minor league camp.

With bullpen spots locked up for Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RPs Fernando Rodney, Hisanori Takahashi, Kevin Jepsen, Jordan Walden, Scott Downs (toe) and Michael Kohn, Ps Jason Bulger and Richard Thompson are fighting for a spot, according to the Los Angeles Times' Mike DiGiovanna. With Downs likely to start on the disabled list, both Bulger and Thompson could both make the roster.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Jason Bulger (shoulder) appeared in the team's spring game Monday, Feb. 28, and is feeling perfect heading into the season, according to MLB.com's Lyle Spencer. "I'm full go," Bulger said, "letting it go. I'm not having any problems. I hurt the shoulder at the end of May, came back to pitch the last month and then took a month off. I did my exercises and started throwing again, and I'm feeling great."
