The experiment with 1B Edwin Encarnacion playing left field appears to be over. The Blue Jays no longer need him to play that position, as OF Jose Bautista (hamstring) can return to playing in the field. Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion's (hamstring) hamstring issue is not expected to be a major issue, according to manager John Gibbons. "It made sense to give him the day, we don't want that to turn into anything major. Hopefully it's not a long-term thing, we don't think it will be."
