Updating a previous report, Chicago White Sox 3B Jeff Keppinger (shoulder) underwent a successful debridement procedure on his right shoulder Thursday, Sept. 26. He will need two to three months to recover and should be at 100 percent by the beginning of spring training.

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (wrist) is not in the lineup again Monday, July 22, and he's unsure if he can avoid the disabled list. He will rest for at least the next two days.
Fantasy Tip: If Beckham goes back on the DL, Jeff Keppinger can slide over to second base and Conor Gillaspie can play the hot corner. Aside from his injuries this year, Beckham has made some nice adjustments at the plate. He's worth stashing if he goes back on the DL in deep mixed leagues.

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (quad) suffered a left quad contusion after colliding with OF Casper Wells during the 12th inning of the second game of a doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies Saturday, July 13. He remained in the game for the rest of the inning but was replaced on defense in the 13th inning by C Josh Phegley. Beckham was not in the starting lineup Sunday, July 14, with INF Jeff Keppinger playing second base.

The Chicago White Sox have placed 1B Paul Konerko (back) on the 15-day disabled list because of a lower back strain. The team has also placed RP Jesse Crain (shoulder) on the 15-day DL because of a right shoulder strain. The move is retroactive to June 30.
Fantasy Tip: Konerko has been dealing with his back injury for the last week or so and will sit out to allow it to heal. Jeff Keppinger could see most of the time at first base while Konerko is out with Conor Gillaspie and Brent Morel splitting time at third base. Both Gillaspie and Morel could have value in AL-only leagues.

The New York Yankees are looking to add a third baseman in a trade because 3B Alex Rodriguez (hip) is not close to returning at this point. Chicago White Sox 3B Jeff Keppinger and Philadelphia Phillies 3B Michael Young could be options if they become available. Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez likely would not be an option because he is due $25 million through the 2014 season.

The Chicago White Sox are willing to trade any play except for 1B Paul Konerko and SP Chris Sale this summer, according to rival executives. The White Sox could part with OF Alex Rios, SS Alexei Ramirez and SP John Danks, and they are currently involved in some discussions with other clubs. The Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies and Kansas City Royals could all be fits for Rios, and the Los Angeles Dodgers make sense for Ramirez.
Chicago could get the idea to sell RP Jesse Crain as a ninth-inning man during a soft market for closers. He has roughly $2.25 million left on his salary this year. SP Jake Peavy (rib) could wind up being the best available pitcher on the market this summer, but he still has three weeks before he's back from the disabled list. The White Sox will want a lot in return for Peavy, and other teams won't be sure he's completely healthy. 3B Jeff Keppinger's name has also come up, and 1B Adam Dunn may be hard to move.

Chicago White Sox 3B Conor Gillaspie has earned the right to maintain most of his playing time after 2B Gordon Beckham (hand) returns. Being a left-handed hitter helps Gillaspie's odds of suiting up a majority of the time.
Fantasy Tip: Jeff Keppinger has started to hit a bit lately and probably would still start versus a southpaw. This is a messy situation for AL-only players, but Gillaspie being on the good end of this three-way platoon bodes well for his rest-of-season opportunities.

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (hand) will be out until Wednesday, May 29, with soreness.
Fantasy Tip: This represents a minor setback for Beckham. He should still return from the disabled list shortly, pushing Jeff Keppinger back to full-time duty at third base.

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (wrist) could return to the team this weekend.
Fantasy Tip: Beckham's return will shift Jeff Keppinger back to the hot corner, leaving Conor Gillaspie with drastically reduced playing time. Gillaspie would only be worth keeping on very deep AL-only league rosters.
