Chicago White Sox 3B Conor Gillaspie (illness) was scratched from the starting lineup against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Saturday, May 11, because of an upper respiratory infection. INF Jeff Keppinger moved over from second base to third base, with INF Tyler Greene inserted into the lineup to play second.

Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Sunday, May 5, that he is confident 2B Jeff Keppinger can snap out of his offensive funk. The .284 career hitter is batting just .186 this season with two extra-base hits and no walks in 97 at-bats. "I don't know if concern is the word, but you can tell it's not smooth," Ventura said. "It's not the norm for him. But he has a track record you expect that to come out. You just have to stay with it."

Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura indicated his lineup plan is for 3B Jeff Keppinger to bat second, although it is subject to change.

Fantasy Tip: With Keppinger's ability to get on base, and a handful of powerful bats behind him, Keppinger should be in line for a good chunk of runs. He is a nice AL-only play, and a decent utility option in deeper mixed formats due to his good eye and on-base percentage.
