Twins | Kurt Suzuki out against Cleveland

Mon, 28 Sep 2015 13:02:03 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup Monday, Sept. 28. C Chris Herrmann is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Suzuki ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) in all fantasy formats Monday. He remains a low-end option in AL-only, cavernous mixed and two-catcher formats, but he should start the rest of the games with Minnesota chasing a playoff berth. Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore Monday.

Twins | Kurt Suzuki receives good news

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 22:53:37 -0700

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki (knee) was diagnosed with a bruised left knee and he is considered day to day.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return. Eric Fryer ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) or Chris Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) might see a start if Suzuki is forced to miss time.

Twins | Kurt Suzuki taking day off

Tue, 08 Sep 2015 14:21:44 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Sept. 8. C Chris Herrmann is starting and is hitting eighth against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez.

Fantasy Tip: Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a very weak catching commodity in all fantasy formats. You shouldn't have him in your starting lineup tonight.

Twins | Kurt Suzuki resting

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 09:19:49 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Sept. 3. C Chris Herrmann draws the start behind the plate and is batting eighth against Chicago White Sox SP Jeff Samardzija.

Fantasy Tip: On a day with very few games for FantasyScore users, Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) still remains an unattractive option, unless you want to load up on studs for the rest of your roster. He's hitting only .165 (15-for-91) with two home runs and 10 RBI in a backup role in 2015.

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers Sunday, Aug. 30. C Chris Herrmann will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting only .172 this season and should not be a starting option.

Twins | No Kurt Suzuki against Rays

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 13:58:04 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 26. C Chris Herrmann is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is hitting .279 in August with 11 RBI over 19 games. It isn't huge production, but it pushes the needle in AL-only, cavernous mixed and two-catcher leagues. Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) owns a .530 OPS this season and draws Archer ($9,200, 18.4% of cap). The backstop is an ill-advised FantasyScore play Wednesday.

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 10:05:59 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman Sunday, Aug. 23. C Chris Herrmann will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is receiving a day off and will return to the lineup soon. Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has not done much in his limited playing time this season and should not be a starting option.

Twins | Kurt Suzuki resting Wednesday

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 09:06:30 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 19. C Chris Herrmann is starting and is hitting eighth against New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi.

Fantasy Tip: Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) isn't a viable option on FantasyScore, as he's hitting only .162 (12-for-74) with two home runs and 10 RBI as the backup catcher. Eovaldi has been much more consistent in the second half of the season, too.

Twins | Joe Mauer, Kurt Suzuki numbers against Sabathia

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 14:48:21 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Joe Mauer is hitting .171 with 16 strikeouts in 41 career at-bats against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia. C Kurt Suzuki is 7-for-33 with four home runs off Sabathia. The Twins face Sabathia Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Mauer ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) hasn't been bad against lefties, but his poor history against Sabathia says to look elsewhere on FantasyScore tonight. Suzuki ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) isn't popular among the daily crowd, but tonight may be the time to look to him as a sleeper.
