Panthers | DeAngelo Williams doubtful

Fri, 12 Dec 2014 09:38:09 -0800

Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (hand) is doubtful for the team's Week 15 game, according to head coach Ron Rivera.

Fantasy Tip: It is unlikely that Williams will be able to play in this week's game. He should be avoided in FantasyScore contests. Jonathan Stewart is an excellent option at $5,000 this week. He should be considered for your roster.

Panthers | DeAngelo Williams to see specialist?

Tue, 02 Dec 2014 14:43:34 -0800

Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (hand) could see a hand specialist this week, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Williams fractured his hand in Week 13 but could still play in Week 14 if the swelling in his hand goes down.

Fantasy Tip: If Williams doesn't play, Jonathan Stewart would once again get the start. Whoever starts will have a nice matchup versus the New Orleans Saints, who allow 22.8 fantasy points per game to running backs. While Stewart hasn't done anything special this year, he is a cheaper FantasyScore option at $4,900.

The absence of DE Greg Hardy has impacted the Carolina Panthers' defense this season, according to coach Ron Rivera, because it has made the defense more inconsistent. "People have got to game plan for him and do certain things with protections. It would help to have him. We don't. So, unfortunately, we go on and do the best that we can without him," Rivera said.

Panthers | Will let process play out with Greg Hardy

Fri, 12 Sep 2014 12:03:18 -0700

The Carolina Panthers will not discipline DE Greg Hardy at this point after being found guilty of assaulting and threatening his ex-girlfriend until after an appeal is heard. "We are in a process and we're letting the process play its way out," coach Ron Rivera said. "Because of that, we're following through with the situation, set of circumstances. We're not trying to do anything below board or way above board. "We're trying to go through the process as we understand it. We're going to do the best we can. The players have handled it tremendously well. It's been really hard on them I know, as far as those things. But again, get on the football field and be able to handle those situations, circumstances, that's what the guys have done."

Panthers | Cam Newton could sit

Sun, 07 Sep 2014 06:10:41 -0700

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (ribs) could be held out of the team's Week 1 game by head coach Ron Rivera. Rivera may hold him back to make sure he is healthy for the rest of the season.

Fantasy Tip: With a FantasyScore price of $6,800 (13.60% of cap), Newton is an extremely risky play. If he gets into the game, it may be tough for him to live up to expectations.
