Tue, 13 May 2008 20:50:52 -0700 Marla Ridenour, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports Cleveland Browns CB Kenny Wright already had a marijuana possession charge pending when he was picked up last month in Pearland, Texas, according to Brazoria County (Texas) district attorney Jeri Yenne. Wright was charged March 1 with Class B misdemeanor possession, which is less than two ounces. A hearing on the March charge is scheduled for June 27.

Wright was charged with unlawful restraint, evading arrest and possession of marijuana. He faces a maximum penalty of a year in jail for unlawful restraint, while the other counts carry terms up to six months.
Thu, 03 Apr 2008 20:37:53 -0700 The Associated Press reports Cleveland Browns DB Kenny Wright was arrested Thursday, April 3, after police said he led them on a quarter-mile foot chase that began in the parking of the police station. Wright faces misdemeanor charges of unlawful restraint, evading arrest and possession of marijuana. He remained in Pearland City (Texas) Jail Thursday night pending a bond hearing Friday, April 4. Police said they found 1.875 ounces of marijuana in Wright's vehicle. If found guilty on the unlawful restraint charge, Wright faces up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine. If found guilty on the other charges, Wright faces up to six months in jail and a $2,000 fine on each charge.
