Ps Erik Cordier, Lee Hyde and Jose Ortegano were optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

The Atlanta Braves signed 1B Freddie Freeman, P Jonny Venters, P Kris Medlen, IF Brooks Conrad, P Jairo Asencio, P Juan Abreu, P Brandon Beachy, P Erik Cordier, P Randall Delgado, P Cory Gearrin, P Craig Kimbrel, P Stephen Marek, P Anthony Varvaro, P Lee Hyde, P Mike Minor, P Jose Ortegano, SS Brandon Hicks, OF Joe Mather, OF Jordan Schafer and OF Matt Young to one-year deals Tuesday, Feb. 22, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's David O'Brien. Freeman will receive $414,000.

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Braves P Erik Cordier (elbow) will be at least a few weeks behind other pitchers at Spring Training after having arthroscopic elbow surgery Wednesday, Jan. 19, reports David O'Brien, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Dr. (James) Andrews found a little piece, either scar tissue or a small floater in the joint, and they just felt it was best to go in there and arthroscopically pluck it out," general manager Frank Wren said Thursday, Jan. 20.
