Pirates | Michael Morse designated for assignment |
Wed, 13 Apr 2016 10:34:29 -0700
Pittsburgh Pirates 1B Michael Morse was designated for assignment Wednesday, April 13, and RP A.J. Schugel was selected from the minors in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Morse had a rough season in 2015 (.231 average, just five home runs), and he hasn't recovered since. His absence will mean more playing time off the bench for Sean Rodriguez, but Rodriguez isn't anything more than bench material in NL-only formats.

Pirates | Matt Joyce leading off |
Tue, 12 Apr 2016 07:33:19 -0700
Pittsburgh Pirates OF Matt Joyce is leading off Tuesday, April 12, with 1B John Jaso out of the lineup. 1B Michael Morse is hitting eighth in place of Jaso at first base.
Fantasy Tip: Joyce is 5-for-18 (.278) with a homer and four RBIs against Anibal Sanchez and is worth the flyer again today in DFS. Morse is worth a cheap, low-end flyer as well.

Pittsburgh Pirates 1B/OF Michael Morse (hamstring) left the game Thursday, March 24, after clutching his hamstring on a slide into a base.
Fantasy Tip: Morse was a very speculative draft pick to begin with, and this may keep him off draft boards entering the season.

Pirates | Michael Morse, John Jaso to platoon |
Mon, 22 Feb 2016 16:15:33 -0800
Pittsburgh Pirates 1Bs Michael Morse and John Jaso will platoon at first base this year, according to manager Clint Hurdle.
Fantasy Tip: Jaso is a fine target in NL-only and two-catcher leagues, mainly for his on-base skills and contact-oriented approach. His limited eligibility (DH) also drops his value in the majority of leagues. Morse is even less attractive in the same formats with declining power and contact rates.
