Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons has settled on 1B Adam Lind as his everyday cleanup hitter against right-handed pitching. Lind has earned the role after turning into one of the club's most reliable hitters. Entering Tuesday, May 21, Lind was batting .351 with three homers and a 1.076 OPS.
Fantasy Tip: Lind has had his tough times over the past few years, but he has re-emerged as a must-start in all AL-only fantasy leagues and most mixed formats while hot.

Once Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (ankle) is able to return to his normal spot in right field, 1B Adam Lind and OF Rajai Davis will split time as the designated hitter. Toronto Blue Jays 1B Adam Lind, who is hitting well this spring, said he dropped 10 pounds in the offseason and started doing yoga. "I think maybe it's given me more bat speed because my muscles are a little longer, more flexible," he said. "I'm not saying if you want to hit, you've got to do yoga. I didn't do it for hitting." Lind said he hasn't had any problems with his back while hitting .424 with a .488 on-base percentage in camp. Manager John Gibbons will give Lind a chance to prove he can be the everyday designated hitter, but if he struggles against lefties again, Gibbons has plenty of other options.
Fantasy Tip: There is real profit potential with Lind this year if he can stay healthy. His back injury likely sapped much of his power and was responsible for his demotion. His overall value will be determined by how well he hits southpaws, though.
