Tue, 21 May 2013 20:06:43 -0700 Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons has settled on 1B Adam Lind as his everyday cleanup hitter against right-handed pitching. Lind has earned the role after turning into one of the club's most reliable hitters. Entering Tuesday, May 21, Lind was batting .351 with three homers and a 1.076 OPS. Fantasy Tip: Lind has had his tough times over the past few years, but he has re-emerged as a must-start in all AL-only fantasy leagues and most mixed formats while hot.
Thu, 02 May 2013 18:35:53 -0700 The Toronto Blue Jays have used 26 different lineup combinations through 29 games this season. Manager John Gibbons has moved DH Adam Lind to the second spot in the lineup and hopes to use that combination for the foreseeable future.
Sun, 28 Apr 2013 08:21:18 -0700 The Toronto Blue Jays have activated 1B Adam Lind from the paternity list. In a corresponding move, RP Brad Lincoln was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.
Sat, 27 Apr 2013 11:20:33 -0700 Toronto Blue Jays 1B Adam Lind is expected to remain on paternity leave until Sunday, April 28.
Wed, 24 Apr 2013 14:37:02 -0700 The Toronto Blue Jays placed 1B Adam Lind on the paternity list Wednesday, April 24.
Wed, 24 Apr 2013 08:17:31 -0700 Toronto Blue Jays 1B Adam Lind is away from the team with his wife, who is in labor. He's out of the lineup Wednesday, April 24.
Tue, 23 Apr 2013 19:55:28 -0700 Toronto Blue Jays 1B Adam Lind was moved to the No. 2 spot in the batting order by manager John Gibbons. Lind had added 168 points to his on-base percentage since April 14. "We're basically looking to change something up. He's been getting on base a lot lately," Gibbons said. Lind was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored while serving as the designated hitter.
Fri, 19 Apr 2013 17:41:12 -0700 Once Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (ankle) is able to return to his normal spot in right field, 1B Adam Lind and OF Rajai Davis will split time as the designated hitter. Lind will face right-handed pitchers, while Davis will face left-handed pitchers. The duo were set to form a platoon earlier in the month, before injuries led to new alignments.
Sat, 30 Mar 2013 09:25:37 -0700 Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said DH/1B Adam Lind is unlikely to start against left-handed pitchers to begin the season. OF Rajai Davis is a possibility to serve as a designated hitter against lefty starters.
Mon, 18 Mar 2013 12:14:01 -0700 Toronto Blue Jays 1B Adam Lind, who is hitting well this spring, said he dropped 10 pounds in the offseason and started doing yoga. "I think maybe it's given me more bat speed because my muscles are a little longer, more flexible," he said. "I'm not saying if you want to hit, you've got to do yoga. I didn't do it for hitting." Lind said he hasn't had any problems with his back while hitting .424 with a .488 on-base percentage in camp. Manager John Gibbons will give Lind a chance to prove he can be the everyday designated hitter, but if he struggles against lefties again, Gibbons has plenty of other options. Fantasy Tip: There is real profit potential with Lind this year if he can stay healthy. His back injury likely sapped much of his power and was responsible for his demotion. His overall value will be determined by how well he hits southpaws, though.
