Texas Rangers RP Mark Lowe worked two perfect innings against the New York Yankees Monday, April 23, and he recorded three strikeouts. He has yet to allow a run this season.

Texas Rangers RP Yoshinori Tateyama (back) has been bothered by a stiff back for several days. Manager Ron Washington said there is a possibility he could start the season on the disabled list. If Tateyama is placed on the DL, RPs Robbie Ross, Mark Lowe and Koji Uehara would fill the final spots in the bullpen.

The Texas Rangers are receiving interest from other teams in some of their bullpen arms. RPs Koji Uehara and Mark Lowe could be expendable with RP Robbie Ross forcing his way into roster consideration.

Texas Rangers RP Mark Lowe has been working on a cutter during the offseason, to go along with a four-seamer, two-seamer, slider and changeup. "I can use that cutter off a lot of my pitches," he said. "If I miss a 2-seamer down the middle, I can run a cutter off it. And I can throw it to hitters on both sides. It's something I've always wanted and it's a feel pitch that's hard to perfect. I'm still working on it and I'll keep working on it."

The Texas Rangers added C Matt Treanor and RP Mark Lowe (hamstring) to their World Series roster before Game 1 Wednesday, Oct. 19. RPs Koji Uehara and Yoshinori Tateyama have been taken off the roster.

Texas Rangers RP Mark Lowe (hamstring) threw a live batting practice session Monday, Oct. 17, and could join the team's roster for the World Series. RP Koji Uehara, who has a 33.75 ERA in the playoffs over 1 1/3 innings, is a candidate to be replaced.
