Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter is not in the starting lineup Monday, July 25. C Jonathan Lucroy is starting at first base and batting fourth, and C Martin Maldonado is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against Arizona Dimaondbacks SP Braden Shipley Monday.
Fantasy Tip: Carter is struggling in July with a .167/.282/.417 slash line, but eight of his 10 hits have gone for extra bases, which highlights his upside and fantasy relevance. With 22 home runs and 55 RBI for the season, he should be owned in all seasonal leagues. Lucroy is a top-tier backstop in all fantasy formats, and playing first base Monday could be an opportunity to showcase his flexibility and increase his trade value. Maldonado is a fantasy afterthought.

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, July 8.
Fantasy Tip: With tonight's exploits, Carter now has 22 home runs on the season, which trails only Kris Bryant (25) and Nolan Arenado (23) in the National League. His batting average (.230) is clearly a liability, but he's a viable source of power in any league.

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter is out of the lineup Monday, July 4, with C Martin Maldonado hitting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Maldonado is behind the dish, and Jonathan Lucroy is playing first base. Lucroy is a daily consideration, but Maldonado doesn't warrant a DFS start against Max Scherzer.

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter was 1-for-3 with a solo home run against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, July 1. It was Carter's 20th of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Carter and Yoenis Cespedes became the fourth and fifth players, respectively, to reach the 20 home run mark in the National League. Of that group, Carter holds the least appeal because of his low average (.231), but he could supply a power surge to anyone provided they can offset Carter's all-or-nothing approach.

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter hit his 18th home run of the season Thursday, June 16, in an 8-6 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Fantasy Tip: Carter hit .199 all of last year with 24 homers and 64 RBIs in Houston. That was in nearly 130 games. One third of the way through this season Carter already has three-fourths of his homers and two-thirds of his RBIs from a year ago. Carter remains a risky play in most leagues, however, because of his .231 batting mark.

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun and 1B Chris Carter are out of the lineup Wednesday, June 15, with OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis hitting cleanup and OF Ramon Flores hitting sixth.
Fantasy Tip: There's not much in the numbers that suggests Nieuwenhuis is a good play against Johnny Cueto today. Because he's hitting cleanup, though, he's a basement option you can't ignore in DFS. Flores has no fantasy prowess.

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter homered twice and drove in all five runs in a 5-4 win over the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday, June 7.
Fantasy Tip: Everyone knows the book on Carter: prodigious power, low average and lots of strikeouts. After his big night, Carter is now tied for fifth in the majors in home runs (16) and tied for 18th in RBI (39). He's hitting a cool .227 for the season, however, which limits his appeal to larger mixed leagues.

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, June 2.
Fantasy Tip: Carter's poor average limits his value, but with 40-homer upside, he is still worth using in NL-only leagues.
