Sat, 18 May 2013 11:41:32 -0700 Houston Astros SP Bud Norris (back) will start against the Kansas City Royals Tuesday, May 21, after originally being scheduled to start against the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday, May 19. SP Lucas Harrell and Dallas Keuchel each had their starts moved up one day, with Harrell pitching Sunday and Keuchel pitching Monday, May 20, against the Royals.
Fri, 03 May 2013 13:44:39 -0700 The Houston Astros would likely listen to trade offers for SPs Bud Norris and Lucas Harrell this summer, even though they are the team's two most reliable pitchers so far. Executives would almost all prefer trading for Harrell over Norris, though, mainly because he won't be a free agent until 2018. Scouts are concerned that Norris is still a two-pitch pitcher, too.
Tue, 30 Apr 2013 11:19:51 -0700 Houston Astros SP Lucas Harrell recorded 14 ground-ball outs in his win over the New York Yankees Monday, April 29, and he induced three double plays in the first four innings. Harrell allowed eight hits while walking one and striking out four in 6 1/3 innings, and he's given up two runs or less in five of his six starts this year.
Thu, 28 Mar 2013 07:15:04 -0700 The Houston Astros starting rotation is as follows: SPs Bud Norris, Lucas Harrell, Philip Humber, Brad Peacock and Erik Bedard.
Wed, 20 Mar 2013 13:30:24 -0700 The Houston Astros are willing to listen to trade suggestions on any of their players as long as they get two players in return. Scouts of other teams have had their eyes on SP Lucas Harrell. Fantasy Tip: Harrell is evolving as a pitcher and could be very effective in a season or two. Keep an eye on him and where he lands if the 'Stros are serious about trading him.
Wed, 20 Mar 2013 12:05:55 -0700 Houston Astros SP Bud Norris will be the team's opening day starter against the Texas Rangers March 31. SP Lucas Harrell will pitch April 2, followed by SP Philip Humber. Fantasy Tip: Norris flies under the radar in the group of midrange fantasy starting pitchers, and his move to the American League West will probably scare even more folks away. His skill set is solid, though, despite a rise in ERA last season.
Sat, 16 Mar 2013 10:26:11 -0700 The St. Louis Cardinals have expressed interest in Houston Astros SPs Lucas Harrell and Bud Norris. The team is also looking for help at shortstop.
Fri, 08 Mar 2013 07:36:20 -0800 Houston Astros SP Lucas Harrell (groin) was scratched from his start Sunday, March 10, due to a minor groin injury.
Tue, 05 Mar 2013 12:19:34 -0800 Houston Astros SP Lucas Harrell has been trying to perfect his curveball this spring. He thinks improving the pitch will help him reduce his pitch counts and work deeper into games. "It's usually my fourth-best pitch," he said. "But I want to make it one of my strengths. I threw a lot down in the bullpen and today I wanted to throw it in situations I wouldn't get hurt. I threw it a couple of times today for a first-pitch strike."
Mon, 21 Jan 2013 17:51:26 -0800 Houston Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said SP Erik Bedard should have a spot in the Houston Astros rotation this year behind right-handed P Bud Norris, P Lucas Harrell and P Jordan Lyles. "When you have a lot of right-handers in the mix and to have a left-hander with his type of Major League experience and success and track record, it can only help us," Luhnow said. "He's got a strong chance to be in our rotation all year long, and we're hoping that's the Erik Bedard that's had tremendous success already in his big league career."
