Wed, 12 Jun 2013 15:30:05 -0700 Seattle Mariners OF Mike Morse (quadriceps) and 1B Kendrys Morales (back) are out of the lineup on Wednesday, June 12. Morse was taking early batting practice. Fantasy Tip: Morales' back problems continue to linger, so "day-to-day" is becoming questionable. The BP is a good sign for Morse, so hopefully he's back in there in a day or two.
Wed, 12 Jun 2013 15:25:48 -0700 Seattle Mariners 1B Justin Smoak (oblique) swung a bat left-handed Wednesday, June 12, and if that goes well, he's likely to begin a rehab assignment on Thursday, June 13. Fantasy Tip: Kendrys Morales has dealt with some mild back pain, so if that remains an issue, perhaps the M's will make a swap. Otherwise, the playing time crunch will be back on the Emerald City. Raul Ibanez has provided much needed power and may be tough to sit down.
Tue, 11 Jun 2013 18:30:20 -0700 Seattle Mariners 1B Kendrys Morales (back) was scratched from the lineup Tuesday, June 11, against the Houston Astros due to soreness in his lower back. 1B Alex Liddi got the starting nod in his absence. Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners in AL-only leagues which permit daily moves will want to reserve Morales, and keep him on the bench until he is able to return and prove his health in at least one full game without any setbacks.
Sat, 08 Jun 2013 15:30:11 -0700 Seattle Mariners 1B Kendrys Morales (back) left the team's game Saturday, June 8, because of back stiffness. Morales is considered day-to-day.
Sun, 26 May 2013 23:45:20 -0700 Updating a previous item, Seattle Mariners 1B Justin Smoak (oblique) is day to day with an oblique injury, and he could be out for a few games. DH Kendrys Morales took his place Sunday, May 26; Morales and OF Mike Morse will likely share the position if Smoak is out for a while.
Sun, 12 May 2013 23:56:24 -0700 Seattle Mariners manager Eric Wedge placed 3B Kyle Seager third in the hitting lineup and moved 1B Kendrys Morales and OF Mike Morse both down a spot in the lineup, to Nos. 4 and 5. Wedge said the moves were designed to take some pressure off Morales and Morse. "I've seen them both chasing more than they shouldn't be chasing," Wedge said.
Wed, 20 Feb 2013 07:09:06 -0800 Seattle Mariners DH Kendrys Morales wants to play more first base this season.
Tue, 19 Feb 2013 09:05:34 -0800 Seattle Mariners DH Kendrys Morales (leg) is taking part in full baseball activities this season and is hitting well in batting practice with his new team. This time last year he was unable to participate because of his injury. This offseason he's been able to strengthen the muscles around his ankle, and he came into spring camp feeling like he did before he suffered his serious leg injury. "Obviously, you can't guess at anything," manager Eric Wedge said. "We see him getting the bulk of his at-bats at designated hitter, but we will also make sure he gets his reps at first base to have that option just in case."
Fri, 08 Feb 2013 11:28:16 -0800 Several rival evaluators believe Seattle Mariners 1B Kendrys Morales will have a very solid season this year, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.
Wed, 23 Jan 2013 21:58:43 -0800 Seattle Mariners manager Eric Wedge views 1B Kendrys Morales as the player who will handle much of the designated hitter duties.
