Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales (foot) is in the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Danny Salazar Tuesday, July 19.

Royals | Kendrys Morales listed as day to day

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 21:38:45 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales (foot) suffered a right foot contusion in the game Monday, July 18, against the Cleveland Indians. He had X-rays and the results were negative.

Fantasy Tip: Morales is listed as day to day. Fantasy owners in leagues which allow daily moves will want to avoid him until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.

Royals | Alex Gordon returns to lineup Sunday

Sun, 10 Jul 2016 08:43:21 -0700

Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon will bat seventh and start in left field against Seattle Mariners SP Mike Montgomery Sunday, July 10. C Salvador Perez will bat second and serve as the designated hitter, while C Drew Butera starts behind the plate and bats ninth. DH/OF Kendrys Morales will bat third and play first base, with 1B Eric Hosmer receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon is just 4-for-28 at the plate this month and is batting .201 through 194 at-bats entering play Sunday, so he should be avoided in all formats. Butera is batting .286 with two home runs and eight RBI through 56 at-bats this season and should be viewed as a productive source of cap relief in DFS.

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 13:52:34 -0700

Blue Jays | Aaron Sanchez baffles Kansas City

Mon, 04 Jul 2016 19:46:47 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays SP Aaron Sanchez encountered little resistance from the Kansas City Royals on his way to an eighth straight winning decision Monday, July 4, giving up only a solo home run to Kendrys Morales among the three hits he allowed over eight innings.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez was supposed to move to the bullpen at some point during the summer in order to keep his innings down, but manager John Gibbons has since walked back from that statement a bit. Despite going exactly eight innings in three of his last six turns, the 24-year-old has yet to throw more than 106 pitches in any game this season. At this point, it would be an upset if he doesn't remain in the rotation, so owners should feel good about his ability to contribute solid four-category production all season long.

Royals | Kendrys Morales belts two more homers

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 18:15:36 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales went 2-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI, two runs scored and a walk in a 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Saturday, July 2, and he has four home runs in his last three games.

Fantasy Tip: Morales has six home runs and 13 RBI during his current eight-game hitting streak, and he has seven multi-hit efforts during the same span. If he was dumped in your league after his awful start, pick him up immediately. Feel free to ride his hot bat in DFS formats, as well.

Royals | Jarrod Dyson starting in center field

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 11:54:59 -0700

Kansas City Royals OF Jarrod Dyson is back in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Nola, batting eighth and playing center field. OF Paulo Orlando is not in the lineup. In addition, DH/OF Kendrys Morales is starting in right field for the fourth consecutive game.

Fantasy Tip: Dyson is 3-for-8 with a pair of doubles over the past week and is 12-for-15 on stolen-base attempts this season. Morales has been starting in right field recently because the Royals have played their last few games in National League stadiums and are looking for a way to keep his bat in the lineup without having the use of a designated hitter.
