Royals | Eric Hosmer sitting out

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 15:11:25 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer (finger) is not in the starting lineup against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers Monday, June 29. 1B Kendrys Morales will start at first base and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is expected to miss a few games because of a finger injury. Owners should monitor the situation to see when he will be able to play. Morales ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has at least one hit in 11 straight games and is a sold starting option on FantasyScore.

Royals | Salvador Perez hitting fifth

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 15:41:37 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez will bat fifth in the order Tuesday, June 16, against the Milwaukee Brewers and RHP Matt Garza. 1B/DH Kendrys Morales isn't in the starting lineup with the game being played in Milwaukee.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) can be a given a bit of a boost on FantasyScore thanks to the promotion but the biggest reason should be his play at the plate of late. Perez has four multi-hit games in his past five, for a total of eight hits in 21 plate appearances. Perez should be considered a strong option at the catcher position, as he has hit four home runs since June 6.

Fantasy Tip: Due to this interleague matchup taking place in a National League park, Hosmer ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) finds himself riding the pine today. Morales ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) is batting .286 with seven homers and 41 RBIs through 58 games this year.

Royals | Kendrys Morales sitting vs. Cards

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 14:50:44 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales is not in the starting lineup against the St. Louis Cardinals Friday, June 12.

Fantasy Tip: Without the option to utilize Morales ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) as a designated hitter, the Royals may opt to roll without him in the lineup this weekend. However, don't rule out him starting one game at first base to provide Eric Hosmer an off day. Morales is having a bounce-back season, and currently boasts a .287/.349/.468 slash line with 33 runs, seven home runs and 41 RBI.

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 31. DH Kendrys Morales will be the starting first baseman.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) likely is sitting because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Morales ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) is batting .303 this month and could be a solid starting option for owners on FantasyScore.

Royals | Kendrys Morales launches a pair

Sat, 23 May 2015 06:45:16 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales hit home runs No. 5 and No. 6 and drove in all five runs during the Royals' 5-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals Friday, May 22.

Fantasy Tip: Morales ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is having a fine rebound season batting in the heart of the Kansas City lineup. He has 31 runs, 15 doubles and 37 RBI with a .305/.358/.506 slash line for the season. FantasyScore players have a nice second-tier first base option, and Morales sports a high floor, as he has posted bagels across the stat line just three times through his first 41 games.

Royals | Kendrys Morales having fine season

Tue, 12 May 2015 11:19:27 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales has a slash line of .302/.357/.473 with four home runs in 140 plate appearances this season.

Fantasy Tip: Morales ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has benefitted from hitting in the middle of a vastly improved KC lineup, thanks to the maturation of Mike Moustakas, Lorenzo Cain and Eric Hosmer. The switch-hitting slugger should remain a fine FantasyScore choice, but he has more upside and power when hitting left-handed.
