Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia progressing

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 08:23:23 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) is hopeful to take batting practice Thursday, July 2.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia could return in time for the July 10-12 series against the New York Yankees, or the team could hold him out until after the All-Star break. Keep him stashed on your DL in the meantime.

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 20:17:44 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) is expected to take batting practice sometime during the series in Toronto.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,800; or 9.6% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in at least one full game without any setbacks.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia to DL

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 08:59:40 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.

Fantasy Tip: Brock Holt ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) already plays pretty regularly, but he'll likely fill in at second with a spot in the outfield opening up for Jackie Bradley Jr. ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) and Alejandro De Aza ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) to platoon in. Holt is a midrange option in good matchups. JBJ and De Aza aren't real attractive options on FantasyScore right now.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia out Thursday

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 07:58:55 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) is out of the lineup Thursday, June 25, in favor of 2B Brock Holt.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is hitting second with a solid matchup against Miguel Gonzalez. He's a low-end option on FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia update

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 05:50:07 -0700

Updating a previous report, Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) left the game Wednesday, June 24, with right hamstring tightness. He underwent tests after the game, but the results are not yet known.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is likely to miss the next couple of days, but it doesn't sound as serious as it looked when he grabbed his leg rounding first base. More will be known when test results are back, but Brock Holt ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) could shift to second. Holt is a low-end option on FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia exits early

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 18:07:51 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) drove in a pair of runs in the sixth inning Wednesday, June 24, against the Baltimore Orioles, but grabbed at his right hamstring while rounding first base and was forced from the game.

Fantasy Tip: Pedey joins Hanley Ramirez in the trainer's room, as both exited early with injuries running the bases. Avoid Pedroia ($4,800; or 9.6% of cap) in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health. It's uncertain if he will miss time.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia returns

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 14:26:36 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (knee) returned to the lineup Saturday, June 20, hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is hitting .365-2-6 this month but has a so-so matchup against Edinson Volquez. His inspired play makes him worth the cap space on FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia remains out

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 13:40:45 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (knee) is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP SP Yohan Pino Friday, June 19. OF Brock Holt will start at second base and is batting first in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) probably is considered day-to-day at this point, but owners should look for updates on his status. Holt ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has recorded 11 hits and two RBI over his last six games and could be a cheaper starting option for owners on FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia sitting vs. Braves

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 13:55:02 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (knee) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, June 18. OF Brock Holt is playing second base and leading off against Atlanta Braves SP Shelby Miller Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is recovering from a sore knee that held him out of the lineup Tuesday, June 16. It is likely wise for FantasyScore players to fade him until he proves he is 100%. While Holt ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is scorching hot (.400/.491/.600 slash line over past 12 games), it is a tough matchup, so he is more of a low-priced flier than a lineup target for FantasyScore contests Thursday.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia has no damage

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 18:50:12 -0700

Updating a previous report, Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (knee) has no structural damage to his knee, manager John Farrell said Tuesday, June 16. Pedroia had further tests Tuesday which revealed fluid and inflammation. "I'll be in there in (the) next couple of days," Pedroia said.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players should avoid Pedey ($4,800; or 9.6% of cap) until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks. Brock Holt ($2,800; or 5.6% of cap) filled in at second base and hit for the cycle out of the leadoff spot, so yeah, he is a solid replacement in FantasyScore.
