Mark Bowman, of Braves.MLB.com, reports the Atlanta Braves have signed their top pick in this year's amateur draft, 3B Eric Campbell.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Guy Curtright reports the Atlanta Braves selected 3B Eric Campbell with their first pick, the 71st overall, in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft Monday, June 7. Braves director of scouting Roy Clark calls Campbell a "Matt Williams-type with upside." Campbell hit .506 with 12 home runs and 33 RBIs in 29 games for Gibson Southern High School this season.
