Minnesota Twins SP Phil Hughes is slated to start the opener against the Detroit Tigers April 6, according to manager Paul Molitor. Hughes went 16-10 with a 3.52 ERA in 32 starts last year for Minnesota, and he set a major league record with an 11.63 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Hughes threw 73% of his pitches for strikes.
Fantasy Tip: It's safe to say Hughes will see some form of regression in his second season with the Twins. While Minnesota was a great landing spot for the righty, be careful not to overvalue him in 2015 after the solid season he had last year. If you prepare for a fall back to reality, Hughes can be serviceable on your fantasy roster rounding out your pitching staff.

Hughes threw 209.2 innings to fall one out shy of a $500,000 bonus, but he declined the Twins' offer to let him pitch out of the bullpen during the final weekend to achieve the bonus. Hughes can block trades to three teams each year during the deal and will earn a $200,000 bonus in any season in which he reaches 200 innings.
