Thu, 09 May 2013 12:46:18 -0700 Milwaukee Brewers SP Mark Rogers (shoulder) has been recalled from his rehab assignment with Double-A Huntsville and will head to Arizona for more testing on his arm. Fantasy Tip: This doesn't bode well for Rogers. He was showing more decreased velocity and a loss of command during his rehab. Surgery may be an option depending on what doctors find.
Thu, 02 May 2013 15:50:59 -0700 Milwaukee Brewers SP Mark Rogers (shoulder) is struggling to regain his command and velocity during a minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Huntsville after he had shoulder issues in spring training. He has given up six hits, six walks and four runs in 3 2/3 relief innings over three appearances while striking out only one. "Despite those numbers, he has improved," said assistant general manager Gord Ash. "As long as we're seeing improvement, we're OK." Rogers was in the high 80s with his fastball this spring after normally sitting in the mid 90s. He has occasionally hit 93 mph at Huntsville, but he's been very inconsistent. Rogers will stay with Huntsville for the time being, and he's pitching in relief because that's the role he'll be used in with the Brewers.
Tue, 26 Mar 2013 10:44:13 -0700 The Milwaukee Brewers placed 3B Taylor Green (hip) and RP Mark Rogers (arm) on the 15-day disabled list Monday, March 25. Green's DL stint was backdated to March 22. Fantasy Tip: Green shouldn't miss much time with his DL stint backdated, and he's valuable mainly in NL leagues with Corey Hart (knee) missing some time to start the season.
Tue, 19 Mar 2013 13:40:14 -0700 Milwaukee Brewers SP Mark Rogers is not part of the current rotation because he's dealing with velocity and control issues, according to manager Ron Roenicke. Fantasy Tip: Rogers is an intriguing power pitching prospect that has the stuff to be successful in the majors, but inconsistency has defined his career so far. The Brew Crew hope he can figure things out on the farm because time is running out.
Fri, 01 Feb 2013 11:55:05 -0800 Milwaukee Brewers SP Mark Rogers is out of minor league options, meaning he will most likely be on the team's opening day roster barring an injury. Rogers is the only pitcher on the squad that is vying for a starting rotation spot that is out of options. "Clearly, we can't get him back to the minor leagues, so we're really focused on trying to get him as an active member of this pitching staff," assistant general manager Gord Ash said. SPs Chris Narveson, Wily Peralta and Mike Fiers are also competing for spots in the rotation.
Sun, 27 Jan 2013 11:34:53 -0800 Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke hinted that SP Wily Peralta is the favorite to win the No. 3 spot in the starting rotation, behind SPs Yovani Gallardo and Marco Estrada. This would leave SPs Chris Narveson, Mike Fiers and Mark Rogers to battle for the final two spots in the rotation.
Sun, 30 Dec 2012 22:56:07 -0800 Milwaukee Brewers Ps Mike Fiers, Wily Peralta and Mark Rogers each proved in 2012 that they could pitch at the Major League level, but questions remain whether they can pitch successfully in the Majors over the course of a full season. All three will be in the mix for one of four open rotation spots behind SP Yovani Gallardo. Fiers and Peralta have options remaining, while Rogers is out of options.
Thu, 13 Dec 2012 14:26:19 -0800 The Milwaukee Brewers made an offer to SP Ryan Dempster before he signed with the Boston Red Sox. Dempster's agent, Craig Landis, said they never countered Milwaukee's offer. SPs Marco Estrada, Chris Narveson, Mike Fiers, Wily Peralta and Mark Rogers figure to compete for rotation spots in spring training.
Sun, 02 Sep 2012 12:12:38 -0700 Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said SP Mark Rogers will be shut down for the rest of the year. He finishes the season with a 3-1 record and a 3.92 ERA.
Tue, 21 Aug 2012 15:34:36 -0700 Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said SPs Michael Fiers and Mark Rogers aren't close to being shut down yet.
