Cincinnati Reds SP Homer Bailey's deal calls for him to receive $9 million and $10 million over the next two years, then see a significant bump to $18 million in 2016, $19 million in 2017, $21 million in 2018, and $23 million in 2019. A significant portion of each year's annual salary will be deferred until the month of November, after the end of each season covered. Bailey's in-season salaries will be $3 million (2014), $4 million (2015), $11 million (2016), $12 million (2017), $14 million (2018), and $15 million (2019), with the remainder deferred to the fall of each year. Likewise, the $5 million buyout of the mutual option year is deferred until the following November.

"To say that I 'want out of Cincinnati' is not true," he said. "I have nothing but good things to say about ownership and management, and I hold a great relationship with the coaching staff."
