Angels | Huston Street may miss Wednesday

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 07:56:48 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street tweeted that his wife is giving birth Wednesday, Aug. 5, which may keep Street out of action tonight.

Fantasy Tip: Joe Smith would likely fill in, according to beat writer Jeff Fletcher. If you have daily waivers, grab Smith if you're save speculating.

Angels | Huston Street returns for 300th save

Thu, 23 Jul 2015 06:13:08 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street (groin) returned Wednesday, July 22, and recorded his 300th career save.

Fantasy Tip: It was Street's first save since July 8, but all signs seem to be a go. He's one of the better closing options in the game.

Angels | Huston Street to return Saturday

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 15:33:41 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street (groin) went through his normal pre-game routine Friday, July 17, and he will be available to pitch Saturday, July 18.

Fantasy Tip: Street has avoided the DL for now, but because of his history of ailments, you may want to have Joe Smith close by if you own Street. Speculate on Smith if you're in a deeper league, are desperate for saves and he's available.

Angels | Huston Street's bullpen pushed back

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 13:15:08 -0700

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street (groin) was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday, July 16, but it was pushed back to Friday, July 17. He said he feels "ready to go" and will be ready to pitch Saturday, July 18.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners shouldn't be too concerned because the injury isn't arm related. Still, a bullpen session without a setback would be reassuring. Continue to view Street as a second-tier closer, as he has 24 saves with a 2.27 ERA, 2.99 FIP, 0.93 WHIP and 9.1 K/9 this year.

Angels | Huston Street to throw bullpen

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 11:25:23 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street (groin) will throw a bullpen session Thursday, July 16, to determine if he needs to go on the disabled list or if he will be active Friday, July 17.

Fantasy Tip: Given Street's injury history, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Angels take the cautious route and put him on the DL if he's not improved. Get ahead of the curve and add Joe Smith now if you own Street or if you're in need of saves.

Angels | Huston Street to throw Sunday

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 16:02:24 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street (groin) has been improving and is expected to test his groin by playing catch Sunday, July 12. Street tweaked his groin while recording the final out Wednesday, July 8, and hasn't been available to pitch since.

Fantasy Tip: The Halos didn't encounter any save situations over the weekend, so Joe Smith didn't have the opportunity to pick up a save with Street ailing. It's unknown if Street will be available when the second half of the season resumes Friday, but his injury doesn't seem serious at all. Smith deserves to be owned in deeper leagues or if you're desperate for saves, but hopefully you didn't spend much on him, since Street could return this Friday.

Angels | Huston Street unlikely this weekend

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 16:27:58 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street (groin) said it's "doubtful" that he'll pitch this weekend against the Seattle Mariners. However, he is optimistic that he will return after the All-Star break.

Fantasy Tip: Street has a history of injury problems that have landed him on the DL in his career, so you shouldn't be optimistic as he is heading into the break. Grab Joe Smith immediately, even if you don't own Street and are searching for saves.

Angels | Huston Street injures groin

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 06:17:42 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street (groin) fell to a knee on his final pitch Wednesday, July 8, with a groin injury. He hurt his left groin on his second-to-last pitch of the game, he aggravated it on the final pitch, and he didn't want to put any more weight on it as the game ended. While the injury is not believed to be serious enough to send Street to the disabled list, it could sideline him for the four-game series in Seattle leading into the All-Star break.

Fantasy Tip: Joe Smith could be in line for save opportunities in the near future. Pick him up if you're save speculating.

Angels | Huston Street blows third save

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 19:07:16 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street blew his third save in 24 chances, allowing a solo home run to Seattle Mariners 3B Kyle Seager Sunday, June 28.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the blown save, Street's job is one of the most secure in baseball. He owns a 2.27 ERA and 0.92 WHIP overall, and he would need to imlplode before he would be removed as closer.

Angels | Huston Street tagged with loss

Thu, 04 Jun 2015 04:20:08 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Huston Street suffered his second loss of the season Wednesday, June 3, when Tampa Bay Rays OF Kevin Kiermaier hit a 10th-inning homer to give his team a 6-5 victory.

Fantasy Tip: Street remains a valuable closing option in yearly leagues as long as he stays healthy. He hasn't had a bad outing on a regular basis, so chalk this up to a simple case of bad luck and bad pitch location.
