The San Diego Padres activated RP Huston Street (calf) from the 15-day disabled list Friday, June 14.
Fantasy Tip: If he doesn't immediately reclaim the closer role, it should happen in the coming days. Luke Gregerson (and, for the more desperate, Dale Thayer) remain worth holding for a bit to see how the injury-prone Street responds to returning.

Updating a previous report, San Diego Padres RP Huston Street (calf) will pitch one inning for Class A Lake Elsinore Wednesday, June 12. Manager Bud Black said there is no set plan for when he will pitch after that, although it is conceivable he could return from the 15-day disabled list when eligible Friday, June 14.

San Diego Padres RP Huston Street (calf) threw a simulated game on Monday, June 10, his first time facing hitters since landing on the disabled list. "Threw the ball well, his calf seems to be fine," manager Bud Black said. The right-hander threw all his pitches and indicated that he wants to improve the consistency of his slider by the time he's activated. Street is scheduled to pitch for Class A Lake Elsinore and will be re-evaluated afterward.
Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Street has a good chance to make this a minimum stay on the DL. Until he emerges from workout without issue, one can't be too sure, though, given his penchant for setbacks. The Padres have been wise to take a cautious approach, so far.

The San Diego Padres have placed CL Huston Street (calf) on the 15-day disabled list with a calf strain. It was the same calf strain that landed him on the disabled list last year, but Padres manager Bud Black said this injury is not as severe. RPs Luke Gregerson and Dale Thayer will be used to close games in Street's absence, with the former expected to get the bulk of the save chances.
Fantasy Tip: Gregerson should be picked up in all fantasy universes and played until Street's return from the DL. Thayer has limited value but could be looked to if you are desperate for save chances.

San Diego Padres RPs Huston Street and Luke Gregerson are both unavailable to pitch Monday, April 29, as they've both thrown in each of the last three days.
Fantasy Tip: If a save situation arises Monday, expect Dale Thayer to get the shot to close out the game. Thayer has minimal experience as a closer from last season.

The Detroit Tigers didn't ask for San Diego Padres RPs Huston Street or Luke Gregerson in exchange for SP Rick Porcello. The Padres would have surely turned that proposal down, if so.
