Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports former professional wrestler Brock Lesnar still wants to play in the NFL. He had a shot as a defensive lineman in training camp last season with the Minnesota Vikings and he wound up getting released. Lesnar now thinks he'll have to be an offensive lineman to make it. Almost a year after becoming a national curiosity, Lesnar is preparing for another shot at the NFL. He is training at his home in the Twin Cities for another run. Lesnar would prefrer to land once again with the Vikings.

The Star-Tribune reports the Minnesota Vikings will not sign DE Brock Lesnar, who was recently released by the team, and put him on their practice squad before the season opener. However, head coach Mike Tice said he thinks the team will add Lesnar back to their roster at some point this year unless he signs with another team. Tice sees him as a good pass-rusher in nickel defenses down the road.

Jason Williams, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice would like to sign DL Brock Lesnar, who was released by the Vikings on Monday, Aug. 30, to the practice squad. "He's a lot better than we thought," said Tice. "We didn't think he'd be able to pick it up so quickly. He showed us that he was going to have the right work ethic and the right attention to detail. We're very proud of what he has accomplished. Hopefully it will work out for him, and hopefully it will work out for him here."

Bill Williamson, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings DL Brock Lesnar, formerly of WWE fame, has made strides in practice, evidenced by his sack and four tackles recorded against the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, Aug. 6. "Brock is getting better every day," said assistant defensive line coach Jim Paganos, directly in charge of Lesnar's progress. "He has a long way to go, but today he did some very good things. We saw him turn the corner in the middle of the week. Every day, it's better. Today was very good."

Head coach Mike Tice said the team will give him another workout sometime next week. However, it is still unlikely that the Vikings will sign him in time for training camp. The Vikings are concerned about his lack of football experience and may be reluctant to give up a roster spot for someone who hasn't played football in nine years.

Updating a previous report, Bob Sansevere, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings worked out DL Brock Lesnar, a former WWE wrestler, Friday, June 11. "He is a project with a capital P,'' said Scott Studwell, the Vikings' director of college scouting. "He's got physical tools, but he has a long way to go.'' The Vikings are cautiously optimistic about Lesnar's potential. "He is talented. He is a good athlete. He has a history of achievement. And you know he has a work ethic,'' Studwell said. "Is it a shot in the dark? Yeah. How long would it take him to come up to speed? How long would it take us to find out if he can play?''
