Chris Perkins reports for the Sun Sentinel OL Leon Searcy will undergo surgery Thursday on his right triceps. The procedure is expected to end his 11-year NFL career. He was released with an injury settlement earlier this year by the Miami Dolphins.

ESPN.com’s Len Pasquarelli reports Miami Dolphins OL Leon Searcy (triceps) may not be gone for the year after all. A second MRI showed his right triceps is not a torn tendon. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said there’s a good chance he could play in about six weeks.

Chris Perkins reports for the Sun Sentinel Miami Dolphins backup G Leon Searcy may not be as badly injured as first thought. Early in the afternoon, a MRI showed Searcy had a torn triceps tendon in his right arm, an injury that threatened to end his season. Later in the afternoon a second MRI, one taken after blood had cleared from the affected area, showed Searcy only has a muscle injury. Agent Drew Rosenhaus said Searcy may not need surgery now and that he may only miss a couple of weeks.

John Clayton reports for ESPN.com agent Drew Rosenhaus said Miami Dolphins backup G Leon Searcy will require surgery in the next couple days to repair his torn triceps. He'll miss all of the 2002 season.

Miami Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt said G Leon Searcy (triceps) will have an MRI done to determine the full extent of his injury. He could be lost for an extended period of time, possibly the whole season.

The Associated Press reports Miami Dolphins G Leon Searcy (elbow) was injured during Thursday's pre-season game. " don't know if it's a pull, a strain or a tear," coach Dave Wannstedt said. Searcy will be re-evaluated Friday.
