Updating a previous item, the Cincinnati Reds signed SP Manny Parra to a one-year, $1 million deal Friday, Feb. 1. Parra can make an extra $400,000 in incentives for games pitched in relief; $50,000 each for 45 and 50 games and $100,000 each for 55, 60 and 65 games

The St. Louis Cardinals haven't had discussions regarding an extension for SP Adam Wainwright, according to one official. General manager John Mozeliak doesn't expect to speak with Wainwright's representatives at the winter meetings this week, either. The team is interested in extended Wainwright, but they will be "focused on additions to the roster" first. St. Louis is mainly looking for a left-handed reliever. Free-agent RPs Sean Burnett (Nationals), Mike Gonzalez (Nationals) and Manny Parra (Brewers) are possibilities.

Milwaukee Brewers SP Manny Parra (shoulder) was examined Wednesday, Aug. 1, and he'll need more time to rest, which means he won't pitch this weekend. He could still land on the disabled list. "It's way better but he still has a little bit of irritation there," said manager Ron Roenicke. "They talked about kind of checking things out again on Monday."
