The Palm Beach Post reports newly signed LB Corey Moore practiced with the Miami Dolphins yesterday. He is not expected to be active Sunday. His role with the team remains undefined, but his experience on special teams should help. Moore spent the first 15 weeks of the season as a spectator. He had workouts for Atlanta, the New York Jets, Indianapolis and St. Louis.

Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson reports the Bengals made more roster cuts today and the list contained a few surprises. S/KR Tremain Mack and P Daniel Pope were two of the cuts. The team placed rookie TE Sean Brewer on the injured reserve list. WR Damon Griffin was also placed on IR with a minor injury. The team officially re-signed QB Scott Covington when the team was forced to carry four QBs due to Scott Mitchell's injury. Also released were FB Clif Groce and DE Kevin Henry. WR Malcolm Johnson, C Roger Roesler and DE Corey Moore joined the list of released players. Rookie free agents who have practice squad eligibility that were cut were TE Kirk McMullen, DT Jeff Boyle, and LBs Rashad Harris and Chris Edmonds.

The Palm Beach Post reports for the second time this week, the Miami Dolphins lost out on one of their waiver claims. After a failed attempt to land QB Michael Bishop, the Dolphins lost out yesterday on former Bills LB Corey Moore. He went to the Bengals because they had a worse 2000 season record than the Dolphins.

Geoff Hobson reports for the team's official site the Cincinnati Bengals have claimed LB Corey Moore off waivers from the Buffalo Bills. He should be able to play against his old team Saturday. He is going to return to his college position (defensive end) in Cincinnati as a pass rusher on passing downs.

The Associated Press reports the Buffalo Bills activated an impatient LB Corey Moore off the PUP list today. Moore's impatience boiled over after he spent the morning session on the sideline, because team trainers considered him out of condition. "I argued with the trainers," Moore said. "I told them I'd rather be out here instead of standing around and getting stiff." Moore spent much of the no-contact session taking a majority of the reps at middle linebacker, giving starter Sam Cowart time to rest.

Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com reports despite the move of LB Sam Cowart to middle linebacker by the Buffalo Bills, don't hand the starting role at weakside linebacker to Corey Moore. Coaches actually have third-year pro Jay Foreman penciled in atop the depth chart. Moore will be afforded an opportunity to nudge Foreman out of the first-unit lineup. The Bills also will give DaShon Polk, regarded in the past as an inside linebacker, a shot at the weakside starting job.

Moore had failed to return Williams' calls after the shooting incident. He's expected to address the media when he returns to Buffalo, but it's unknown when that will happen.

The Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills LB Corey Moore spoke with coach Gregg Williams on Wednesday. Williams said Moore is now making plans to travel to Buffalo in the next few days. The coach said at Moore's request, he will will make no further comments on the player's status. The linebacker is scheduled to appear in Tennessee's Haywood County General Sessions Court on Tuesday to face an aggravated assault charge after a man was hit with a beer bottle on May 15. Moore had no comment on any issues.

Moore has failed to respond to several messages left by the team. Head coach Gregg Williams said either Moore's phone is broken down or his ears went numb during recent surgery because he's failing to acknowledge the team. They want their medical staff to evaluate him.

Moore, as reported, was shot late last week while parked at an intersection in Tennessee. He has been cleared to travel but the team isn't sure when he'll be able to come to Buffalo to be looked at by team doctors.

Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills LB Corey Moore was treated and released from the hospital after being shot in the leg early Friday. Moore, stopped in his car at an intersection, was wounded when someone walked up to the driver side of his car. He was able to drive himself to the hospital. No arrests have been made as of yet.

Foreman will have big shoes to fill this weekend as he's replacing who many consider the Bills MVP this year. Cowart has put up 181 tackles, 5½ sacks, and 2 interceptions this year. Rookie Corey Moore will replace injured LB Sam Rogers (groin) at right OLB.

Rogers and Cowart, who are both out of action, plan to play coach and help the younger LBs while they fill in.
