Charles Odum reports for the Sporting News Atlanta Falcons RB Rodney Thomas is expected to continue to see an extended amount of action over the team's last two games. Starting RB Maurice Smith has been slowed for several weeks by a sprained ankle, and he will need off-season surgery to repair torn cartilage in his knee. Unless FB Bob Christian starts in a one-back set, Smith should be the starting RB again. Thomas' speed also produced quick bursts that allowed him to create extra yards against the Bills last week and the offense needs the threat of the long run.
