The Minnesota Vikings are unlikely to bring back SS Tyrell Johnson, SS Jarrad Page, CB Benny Sapp or SS Andrew Sendejo in 2012. Page is expected to become a free agent in March, and he is not likely to re-sign. Sapp doesn't fit in with the youth movement in Minnesota, and he is unsigned heading into 2012. The Vikings are expected to cut bait with Johnson. Sendejo is signed through 2012, but he is probably not in the team's future plans.

The situation is not expected to affect his playing time in Week 17 because he is not expected to start the game.

Minnesota Vikings CB Benny Sapp sat out the first two plays before entering in Week 15 against the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Leslie Frazier said Sunday, Dec. 18, that Sapp's absence to begin the game was a disciplinary move. "(It) was something that him and I talked about (Saturday) night that needed to take place," Frazier said. An NFL source said Sapp missed a meeting at the team hotel Saturday, Dec. 17.

If CB Cedric Griffin is active, he will likely be on the bench. "Our guys are going to try and fight to the very end," head coach Leslie Frazier said. "That's what you like about (Benny) and (Asher) and some of the guys that are going to be playing. They're going to give it all they can."

"That's one thing I feel as a team we lack a little bit, just buying in and believing in what the coaches are telling us to do and going out there and playing within ourselves and within the scheme and not have no out-of-body experiences and just play ball."
