San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd had two grabs for a team-high 39 yards in the Week 15 game against the Carolina Panthers. The only other wide receiver to get onto the stat sheet was WR Micheal Spurlock, who had one catch for eight yards. The Chargers had 16 completions, with the wideouts posting three grabs, running backs accounting for eight catches and tight ends making up the remaining five catches.

"He's in it, but it comes down to what we're using in terms of personnel groups," head coach Norv Turner said Monday, Nov. 26. "We have a comfort level with (WR Malcom Floyd). Malcom plays all the positions. We've tried to get (WR Danario Alexander) going and he's made some plays for us. That's where we're at right now."

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd has taken over as the team's "Z" receiver. The "Z" typically lines up on the same side as TE Antonio Gates, and Floyd was moved there in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to create mismatches and make opponents pick their poison. The position was previously manned by WR Robert Meachem. "With Antonio and I lining up next to each other, we put a strain on whatever side we're on," Floyd said.
