The Associated Press reports Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson carried the ball 33 times for 138 yards with three touchdowns Week 17. Johnson finished the regular season with a league-record 416 carries on the year, breaking the previous record of 410 carries held by former Atlanta Falcons RB Jamal Anderson in 1998. Johnson finished 2006 with 1,789 yards rushing, breaking the franchise record of 1,750 yards he set in 2005.

Paul Newberry, of the Associated Press, reports Atlanta Falcons RB Warrick Dunn recorded the longest run in the Falcons' playoff history, a 62-yard touchdown scamper in Saturday's divisional playoff game, Jan. 15. Additionally, Dunn finished the game rushing for 142 yards on 17 carries, eclipsing the previous franchise record for most rushing yards in a playoff game by former RB Jamal Anderson (113).

Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports it appears as though the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' interest in free agent RB Jamal Anderson has waned. The Bucs were not all that impressed with Anderson during his workouts and signing him is no longer considered a priority.

Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worked out RB Jamal Anderson on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The Buccaneers may sign him next week if RB Michael Pittman is still nursing a sore hamstring. Tampa Bay believes he could help them in short yardage situations.

ESPN's Len Pasquarelli and Chris Mortensen report free agent RB Jamal Anderson (Falcons) has visited with Tampa Bay Buccaneers officials Wednesday, Nov. 5, and was expected to work out for the team. The team loves his power running style and receiving ability, but no contract has been offered yet.

Updating previous reports, Len Pasquarelli for ESPN.com reports former NFL RB Jamal Anderson still wants to play in the league and might return for the 2003 season. "Two weeks into (camp) and something could happen," said Anderson's agent, Jim Sims. "He has been working out (in Atlanta), feels great, wants to play. There are a few teams we have focused in on as possibilities." Of those possibilities, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are probably included because of the legal entanglements facing RB Michael Pittman.

Updating previous reports, Dan Pires, of the New Bedford Standard-Times, reports RB Jamal Anderson, who did not play in 2002, is still interested in making a comeback and all indications are that he would very much like to do so as a member of the New England Patriots. The Patriots were close to signing Anderson a year ago, but head coach Bill Belichick wasn’t convinced that Anderson was quite ready to make a contribution.
