The New Orleans Saints have signed free-agent QB Sean Canfield, FB Matt Clapp, WR Montez Billings, OG Brandon Carter, DL DeMario Pressley, LB Harry Coleman and CB Reggie Jones to their practice squad, according to James Varney, of The New Orleans Times-Picayune.

The Kansas City Star reports Kansas City Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil said there were no changes on the team's injury front. Two players, WR Marvin Minnis (ankle) and DT Nate Hobgood-Chittick (ankle) remain doubtful for Sunday's game. In an attempt to potentially add some WR depth, the team worked out former Chargers WR Reggie Jones today. As previously reported, the team expcts WR Derrick Alexander (ribs) to start Sunday.

According to the Associated Press, the San Diego Chargers released KR/WR Reggie Jones today. He had a bad game last Sunday in Denver. He muffed two punts and had just five yards on three returns in the 26-16 loss on Sunday.

Bernie Wilson reports for the AP San Diego Chargers WR Tim Dwight, hospitalized for two nights with a collapsed lung, was at team headquarters for part of the day Wednesday. He has been ruled OUT for next weekend's game. "Tim was wondering if he could play this week," coach Mike Riley said. "He's a tough guy." As previously reported, Reggie Jones will fill Dwight's spot at the both punt returner and No. 3 receiver.

Chargers.com reports San Diego Chargers WRs Jeff Graham, Curtis Conway and Tim Dwight have the top three slots at receiver locked up entering the regular season. Behind them, the battle is much tougher. Reggie Jones appears to be the front-runner for the fourth receiver slot, but WRs Trevor Gaylor, Rodney Williams, Patrick Batteaux and Nate Turner are all in the mix as well. Head coach Mike Riley described the battle as close.

Gaylor, who is battling with Reggie Jones, capped off a great week of practice by making a 28-yard touchdown reception during the game against the Miami Dolphins.

The North County Times reports San Diego Chargers OL Kevin Gogan (knee) will undergo arthroscopic surgery and is out for the remainder of the season. DeMingo Graham will replace him in the starting lineup. The San Diego Union Tribune reports WR Jeff Graham (lip), RB Terrell Fletcher (rib) and LB Gerald Dixon (calf) all missed Wednesday's practice. Fletcher is expected to start again this weekend. The team will likely replace Graham with Trevor Gaylor and Reggie Jones will be the No. 3 receiver.
