New York Giants OT Stacy Andrews (lung) wants to return to the team, and the club might bring him back at some point before training camp begins in July for some experience and depth along their offensive line. The team wants to make sure he is fully healthy, which is their biggest concern according to Andrews' agent. Andrews is still recovering from deep vein thrombosis - blood clots that formed in his legs traveled to his lungs. Andrews is due for a CT scan next week in New York.

The New York Giants have signed free-agent OT Tony Ugoh (Lions). Terms of the contract were not disclosed. In a corresponding move, the team placed OT Stacy Andrews (lung) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2011 season.

New York Giants OG Stacy Andrews (lungs) was hospitalized Sunday, Dec. 4, due to pulmonary embolisms in both of his lungs. He is expected to be released from the hospital Monday, Dec. 5.

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin did not name a replacement for OT William Beatty (eye), who is out for Week 12. OG David Diehl is expected to slide over to left tackle with reserve lineman OL Kevin Boothe stepping in at left guard. "Nothing's been declared yet," Diehl said Friday. "I've been playing some (left guard) during practice, playing next to Boothe, next to OL Stacy Andrews as well. This is nothing new for me. This is part of being a guy who can play multiple positions."

Updating a previous report, New York Giants OT Kareem McKenzie (toe) was seen in the locker room with his right toe bandaged Friday, Nov. 25. He was a limited participant in practice. If he is unable to play, the team might use OG Stacy Andrews in his place, or turn to rookie OT James Brewer.
