Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona said Tuesday, April 30, that since the team has a scheduled off day Thursday, May 2, OF Nick Swisher (shoulder) might be allowed to rest his ailing left shoulder Wednesday, May 1. He was held out of the lineup Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners in daily leagues will want to reserve Swisher for Wednesday's game. It sounds like a near certainty that he will be held out. However, it doesn't sound like a long-term injury, so he should be kept active heading into the next scoring period in all weekly formats.

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona said Wednesday, March 6, that 1B Nick Swisher is keeping his throwing arm "stretched out" for potential use as a right fielder this season. Francona said Swisher will play in right field later this spring to keep him ready for potential part-time outfield duty.

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona has already spoken with OF Nick Swisher about pressing due to the large contract he signed. "I've talked to him about that and will continue to talk with him multiple times," Francona said Wednesday, Feb. 20. "He does not have to carry this team on his shoulders."

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Indians OF Nick Swisher will resume working out at spring training camp Sunday, Feb. 17, after returning from attending his mother's funeral in Columbus.
