Braves | No Nick Swisher vs. Nationals

Fri, 04 Sep 2015 12:24:51 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Nick Swisher is not in the starting lineup Friday, Sept. 4. OF Michael Bourn is starting in left field and batting eighth against Washington Nationals SP Tanner Roark Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Swisher ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been a nice add to the middle of the Braves lineup. He owns a .822 OPS with three home runs and 11 RBI over his 22 game with Atlanta. Still, he is nothing more than a low-end option in cavernous mixed and NL-only seasonal leagues. Bourn ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is sporting an uninspiring .227/.301/.271 slash line this season, so FantasyScore players should chase more upside or better values around his price range.

Braves | Nick Markakis taking day off

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 09:05:36 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Nick Markakis is not in the lineup against Miami Marlins left-handed SP Adam Conley Wednesday, Sept. 2. OF Nick Swisher moves over to right field and is hitting fifth, while 3B Adonis Garcia is starting in left field and hitting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Both Swisher ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) and Garcia ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) qualify as sleeper plays worth considering against the hittable Conley this afternoon, with Swisher likely giving you more bang for your buck.

Braves | Nick Swisher hitting second

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 12:17:12 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Nick Swisher is batting second in the lineup Tuesday, Aug. 25, against Colorado Rockies SP Chad Bettis.

Fantasy Tip: Swisher ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) batted sixth and fourth in games over the weekend, including a .750 average in the fourth position. Swisher is also hitting .625 in left field, and this may be behind the move to put him higher in the order. He may be worth a flier at this price.

Braves | Nick Swisher ties record

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 17:52:27 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Nick Swisher went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in a 9-7 loss to the Chicago Cubs Saturday, Aug. 22, and he tied a record by homering from both sides of the plate in the same game for the 14th time.

Fantasy Tip: Swisher ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has been playing on a regular basis recently, but he is hitting just .207 on the year. He really isn't worth using at FantasyScore.

Braves | Nick Swisher playing left field

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 10:17:17 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Nick Swisher will bat sixh and play left field against Chicago Cubs SP Dan Haren Saturday, Aug. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Swisher ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is just 4-for-25 (.160) with a home run and four RBIs since joining the Braves. Better low-cost options are available in FantasyScore and his performance this season shouldn't inspire much confidence in owners.

Braves | Nick Swisher's playing time to dry up

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 11:40:52 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Nick Swisher is likely to see his playing time reduced with the return of 1B Freddie Freeman (oblique) from the disabled list Wednesday, Aug. 19. Swisher started six of the last nine games at first base with Freeman out. Freeman is likely to play every day as long as he's healthy, and manager Fredi Gonzalez admitted he's not sure where Swisher will fit in. Swisher's surgically repaired knees have decreased his mobility, so it might be tough for him to play much in the outfield. Swisher was 3-for-22 (.136) with a double, home run and four RBI in seven games since being traded to Atlanta, with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: With Swisher ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) likely moving to a bench role, he's no longer attractive to those in deep mixed leagues anymore. He won't be very useful on FantasyScore, either, if he's not playing very often.

Braves | Nick Swisher sitting vs. Friars

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 15:43:48 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Nick Swisher is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 18. 1B Joey Terdoslavich is starting at first base and batting seventh against San Diego Padres SP James Shields Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: Swisher ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is 3-for-22 with a home run and eight strikeouts since joining the Braves. His career trajectory is heading in the wrong direction for fantasy purposes. Terdoslavich ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is nothing more than a desperation flier at FantasyScore Tuesday, as he owns a measly .208/.236/.337 slash line over 55 plate appearances this season.

Braves | Nick Swisher out Sunday

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 07:49:38 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Nick Swisher is out of the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 16, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. 1B Joey Terdoslavich will start at first base and hit seventh in the order against RHP Rubby De La Rosa.

Fantasy Tip: Terdoslavich's ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) last three hits have been doubles, and he has some upside to offer, while also offering tremendous cap relief on FantasyScore.

Braves | Nick Swisher in the lineup

Sat, 08 Aug 2015 14:28:32 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Nick Swisher is hitting fifth Saturday, Aug. 8, in his first game with the club.

Fantasy Tip: Give Swish ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) a few days to get his feet under him after missing most of the season. Keep him in mind on FantasyScore moving forward.

Braves | Nick Swisher, Michael Bourn coming Saturday

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 13:53:04 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Nick Swisher (knee) and OF Michael Bourn will be in uniform Saturday, Aug. 8, and Swisher is ready to come off the disabled list. He can play some first base with 1B Freddie Freeman (oblique) on the disabled list. Bourn could see time in left field.

Fantasy Tip: Bourn ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) and Swisher ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) won't see their fantasy value fluctuate all that much with the trade. Owners in NL-only leagues will benefit the most, and Swisher's short-term value at first base can be helpful, especially for those that lost Freeman again.
