Cardinals.MLB.com's Matthew Leach reports the St. Louis Cardinals acquired IF Nate Espy from the Philadelphia Phillies for a player to be named. Espy, who turns 26 next month, spent the past two seasons with Philadelphia's Double-A Reading team. He hit .242 at Reading with 54 walks for a .350 on-base percentage last season, and rapped nine homers. It was the first time in Espy's pro career that he didn't reach double-digits in home runs.
