The Washington Nationals activated SP Chien-Ming Wang (hamstring) from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, May 22, and placed RP Ryan Mattheus (foot) on the DL in a corresponding move. Wang will be used as a long reliever out of the bullpen. Mattheus is dealing with plantar fasciitis.

The Washington Nationals don't seem particularly interested in exploring a trade of SP Chien-Ming Wang (hamstring), who is "ready now," according to one scout. The Nats are clearly stalling in activating Wang while they decide how he will fit with the team.

"With the starters throwing as good as they're throwing, they want him to be doing the same thing," manager Davey Johnson said. "At this point, we want him to be pretty much game ready."
