"I don't think he wants to leave, I just think he wants to be compensated according to what he's done on the football field and that's understandable," Fitzgerald said. " I don't care what work is; I don't care if you're a school teacher, I don't care if you're a journalist, I don't care if you're a broadcaster – if you're the best at what you do, you want to be compensated accordingly. I can definitely sympathize for the way he's feeling. I just hope that we can come to a good resolution and everyone can be happy and we can continue to move forward."

"They had good talent on defense. You got [RB Ronnie Brown], [RB Ricky Williams], [TE Anthony Fasano], [WR Ted Ginn Jr.]. They got a lot of talent on that team so they're going to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come," Fitzgerald said.
Cardinals | Boldin deal to come down to guarantees Wed, 28 Jan 2009 05:56:31 -0800 Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports even though Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald has reportedly offered to restructure his deal to help keep WR Anquan Boldin, cap space is not the problem in retaining Boldin. The Cardinals are about $41 million under the 2009 salary cap, even though team officials said that number does not include escalator clauses, option bonuses and tenders to free agents, most of which begin to count against the cap in March. The main obstacle in a new deal with Boldin is money, especially the guaranteed portions. The sides haven't negotiated for months, and Boldin has said he won't re-sign with the team.
Cardinals | Fitzgerald willing to restructure to keep Boldin Tue, 27 Jan 2009 06:02:48 -0800 Adam Schefter, of NFL.com, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said he is willing to restructure his contract so that the team can redo WR Anquan Boldin's deal and keep him in Arizona long-term. Boldin wants his deal redone and said during the season that he never would re-sign with Arizona again, but many around the league believe that as long as the Cardinals make a sufficient offer, then Boldin will agree to stay.
Cardinals | Fitzgerald playing lighter this season Tue, 27 Jan 2009 05:12:49 -0800 Bob McManaman and Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald is playing at a weight of 213 pounds, down from 228 pounds last season. Fitzgerald made losing weight a goal in the offseason, because he thought it would help his quickness and speed. Fitzgerald's lighter weight is one reason he's improved at running after the catch this season. "I'm definitely able to sustain my speed a lot longer," Fitzgerald said. "My endurance is better. I can run down the field repeatedly and I don't get winded. I think a lot of that is a tribute to John Lott (strength and conditioning coach)."
