Colts | Will likely sign veteran WR, not Harrison Mon, 14 Sep 2009 17:30:04 -0700 Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts president Bill Polian said the team would likely sign a veteran wide receiver to fill in for WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee), who is expected to miss up to six weeks with a knee injury. The Colts will not re-sign free-agent WR Marvin Harrison. Polian said, "It really is counterproductive to try to bring a player in who has not had any training camp, not had any offseason. That's especially true of someone at Marvin's age. It's very, very difficult to do and you're probably inviting injury upon injury."

Manning's first completion in '98 was in a preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. Manning took a three-step drop and quickly hit Harrison on a slant, which Harrison took 48-yards for a score. "I remember thinking, 'Wow, throwing to Marvin Harrison sounds like a pretty good idea,'" Manning said.
