Former Indianapolis Colts vice chairman Bill Polian said reports of QB Peyton Manning (neck) still having trouble throwing are not accurate. Polian saw Manning throw in late December and said he has shown improvement. "It's marked (improvement) from where he was back in September," Polian said. "He threw it accurately, he threw it with a good, tight spiral, and he threw it with velocity. Generally, he looked like a pretty confident quarterback out there." Polian added Manning was able to make a variety of throws and throw across his body.

NFL Network analyst Michael Lombardi said people that have caught Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning's (neck) passes say they lack the velocity at this point and he is not able to throw across his body yet. "He can't throw the ball," Lombardi said. "I've talked to people who've caught the ball for him. He can't throw the ball to his left. He can't throw the ball across his body, because he doesn't feel it. People that catch the ball for him say he doesn't really have velocity on the ball yet."

Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning (neck) has been working out at Duke University. Peyton is close with the school's head football coach, David Cutcliffe. Cutcliffe was Manning's offensive coordinator at the University of Tennessee.

Former Washington Redskins QB Joe Theismann said it would be a horrific idea for the team to sign Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning (neck) if he becomes a free agent. "It's not a good idea, it's not a bad idea - It's a horrific idea," Theismann said. "It would be one of the poorest things that we could do as a franchise. Are we gonna go find another guy for just a couple of years again? Haven't we done this before? Haven't we seen this act before? And by the way, if you get Peyton Manning, don't you have a concern about protecting him? Don't you have a concern about who he throws the football to?"

Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning (neck) said he will sit down and talk with team owner Jim Irsay soon regarding his future, perhaps as early as this week. Manning received a phone call from Irsay early Monday, Feb. 6, who wanted to congratulate New York Giants QB Eli Manning for his Super Bowl XLVI win. "He called to congratulate Eli and I told him I would pass that along," Manning said. "He said, 'I look forward to sitting down with you soon,' and I told him the same thing. It'll happen. One thing he and I are not going to do is give a set date where it's like a game. We'll handle it the way it should be handled."

Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning (neck) is "good to go" as far as returning for the 2012 season, according to his brother, New York Giants QB Eli Manning. "Everything's good to go," Manning said during an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. "He got a good report from his doctor, said, 'Hey, you know, if you were my own son, I'd give you the okay to play,' and so he'll be ready. He's healthy, now it's just about getting to 100 percent where he can physically make all the throws."
