Josh Ellis, of DallasCowboys.com, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Roy Williams is making the first concerted weight room effort of his career this offseason, according to SI.com's Peter King. "I'm serious. Roy never lifted before," said an acquaintance of Williams. Strength and conditioning coach Joe Juraszek said earlier in June that Williams has been hard at work this offseason to slim down and get himself in better shape for the year.

The Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo said he and WR Roy Williams have been working together throughout the offseason and are continuing to build chemistry with each other. "Oh, we're close. There's still little things, still routes," Romo said. "It's not just about running a route on air. It's about different coverages you're going to see and how you're going to come out of your break. It's our first full season together."

Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo and WR Roy Williams are still dealing with miscommunication and visible signs of frustration when they are unable to connect during practice. Williams barked at Romo Monday, June 15, after a pass didn't come his way when he was open. Williams said, "I was frustrated and I let him know, but that's what we're supposed to do. This is our job. His job is to deliver the ball. My job is to catch it and get open. That's how you win, and that's all I want to do.

Jeffri Chadiha, of ESPN.com, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Roy Williams and QB Tony Romo started working together shortly after the offseason began and Williams said he can already see the benefits. "I just feel more comfortable," Williams said. "And I'm not the only one who's feeling that way. Tony is more comfortable with me. (Offensive coordinator) Jason Garrett is more comfortable calling plays for me. We're all developing that trust, and that's something we didn't have last season. Unfortunately, I was the one who wound up looking bad because of it."

Williams, now the team's No. 1 receiver, was shadowed by the defense during workouts. Despite the struggles, Romo still spoke highly of his new top target. "He really made an emphasis to try to come in in great shape, to get stronger, and it's exciting to see him," Romo said of Williams. "I'm excited to see him keep progressing and see where this can go."

Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Roy Williams can't understand why he has been the target of critics this offseason who aren't sure if he can emerge as the team's No. 1 wide receiver. Williams feels he will prove the doubters wrong once the season begins. "People say, 'Hey, you're our No. 1 receiver,' and say, 'I hope you can do it. Good luck,'" Williams said. "I've been a No. 1 ever since I was 1. But I can't really talk about it. I just got to continue getting in shape and prove it September whatever the day it is in Tampa."
